COUNTER STOOLS - Our top nine for the modern kitchen

Kitchens are one of our favourite rooms to design. Heck, they might even be our favourite! And stools, while of course they serve a practical purpose to seat your derriere, they offer an opportunity for some additional interest, and a dose of fun if you feel so inclined.  In the same way that a unique piece of jewellery transforms a simple black dress, stools can really make a statement in a modern kitchen, and are an excellent way to express your style and personality.

These days nearly all my kitchen projects require counter stools, due to a definite preference for more functional counter space that is not split with dual height counters.

I have rounded up 9 of my favourites here, most falling in a moderate price range, and all of which I would be more than happy to have in my own kitchen.

Do you have a favourite? Let me know in the comments!

Although I love all of these, No.1 takes the top spot - it comes in so many fabric choices as well as powder coat colours for the frame so you can customize it all day long. Plus it is really great value for the quality. And it's Canadian. Woo hoo!

Numbers 5, 6, 8 + 9 also have a choice of colours and/or finishes so you can create something that is totally unique to you. I love anything that can be personalized. ;)

If you need help in your kitchen (not the cooking type of help - not my forte!) whether a total revamp or adding the finishing touches to suit your personality, (you know, like a cool counter stool or something!), I'd love to hear more.
